Lower Washbourne is farmed by James Skevington and has been a family farm for 50 years.
James Skevington has been a member of SDOP since 1998 and is still an active grower within the co-op.
The farm is located near Totnes in South Devon about 5 miles from Dartmouth. It has a medium loam soil which is free draining but prone to drought. The farm is situated in a steep valley and has a rainfall about 50 inches in an average year.
The farm currently grows purple sprouting broccoli for us.
The farm also has a herd of Suckler cows, a small flock of ewes and about 500 geese for the Christmas market.
